2025 in India is witnessing the intersection of fashion, technology and tradition. Smart fabrics that change colour with temperature, garments with embedded fitness-tracking wearables and UV-protective textiles are trending. Traditional fabrics like Khadi, Banarasi and Chanderi are being redesigned into modern silhouettes such as jumpsuits, trench coats and co-ords, appealing to urban millennials. Streetwear is booming: oversized fits, graffiti graphics, custom sneakers and DIY styled pieces reflect youth culture’s influence on mainstream fashion. Gender-neutral lines continue to rise — unisex kurtas, relaxed trousers and utility jackets are being embraced across genders. The movement away from fashion as simply ‘clothes’ toward fashion as an experience is very evident.
